UK ESA Register

A private register · England and Wales

A proper record for your pet, and the truth about what it is worth.

A register reference, a certificate to frame and a wallet card at true bank-card size. £40 once. No renewal fees, ever. And no pretence that a card can give you rights that no card in this country gives anyone.

What the record is

What you get for £40

A.1.1
Puts your pet’s details, photo and a checkable number on one tidy card and certificate.
A.1.2
Gives you something to hand over in the letting agent’s office, at the building’s front desk, or at a pet-friendly hotel, instead of scrolling for photos.
A.1.3
Stays verifiable for life at a public web address, with no renewal fee, ever.

Part C — status and limitations

What it does not do

  1. C.1.1It does not create any legal right to keep a pet, anywhere.
  2. C.1.2It does not oblige a landlord, airline, shop or hotel to accept your animal.
  3. C.1.3It is not a medical document, and we ask you no health questions to produce it.
  4. C.1.4It is not issued or recognised by any government body, because no such register exists.

Every registry in this market knows all of that. We put it on the homepage instead of the small print. You can decide what that is worth.

Where the weight actually sits

In the United States, the letter is the law.In England, the Act is.

In England, renting with a pet is not settled by any certificate or letter. Since 1 May 2026 it is settled by section 11 of the Renters’ Rights Act 2025: you may ask your landlord for consent to keep a pet, they must reply in writing within 28 days, and they must not refuse unreasonably. That is the right our Landlord Pet Request Kit is built around. We do not sell medical letters, because in the UK no such letter carries legal force.

Your card and certificate are drawn on screen with your pet on them. Only then is there anything to pay.

A.3.3

It arrives in a minute

Two PDFs by email: a wallet card at true bank-card size, and a certificate to frame. Both stay checkable for life.

Questions, answered plainly

The awkward ones first

Is this a legal document?

No. It creates no rights and obliges nobody to accept your pet. If a registry tells you otherwise, that is the moment to close the tab.

Will this make my landlord accept my dog?

Not on its own. In England the thing that carries weight is a written request under the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, which your landlord must answer within 28 days and must not refuse unreasonably. That is what our Landlord Pet Request Kit builds for you.

What the Act actually says

Section 16A of the Housing Act 1988, inserted by section 11 of the Renters’ Rights Act 2025: a tenant may keep a pet if the tenant asks in accordance with the section and the landlord consents; consent is not to be unreasonably refused; and the landlord is to give or refuse consent in writing on or before the 28th day after the date of the request.

Do emotional support animals have legal status in the UK?

No. UK law recognises trained assistance dogs under the Equality Act 2010. Emotional support animals have no equivalent standing, and no government register of them exists.

Will you charge me again next year?

Never. One payment, and the registration and its verification page stay live for the life of your pet. We do not store a renewal date because there is not one.

What if I change my mind?

Before you pay, nothing is committed and you can close the tab. Once your documents are delivered the purchase is final, because you keep them — we say so beside the price, and we do not refund a change of mind. If something is faulty or not as described, your statutory rights apply and we put it right. Any refund that is ever made marks the registration inactive, because the credential should always tell the truth.

Do you ask about my mental health?

No, and we never will. We ask no health questions and hold no health data of any kind. Nothing about your circumstances is any of our business.

Ready when you are

It takes about two minutes, and you will see exactly what you are buying before you pay for it.

The Certificate£40

One payment. No renewal, ever.

Not a legal document. UK ESA Register is a private service, not a government body, and no official UK register of emotional support animals exists.
